Several injuries have been reported at Six Flags Great Adventure amusement park in Jackson, New Jersey on Friday (Aug. 26).

A spokesperson for the amusement park said: “several guests reported back pain” after riding the El Toro roller coaster Thursday evening (Aug. 25), per NBC News.

“Five guests were taken to a local medical facility for evaluation. The ride is closed for inspection,” the spokesperson said.

The ride was coming to an end when it reportedly malfunctioned, according to the park official. While the park remains open, the El Toro ride is now closed for inspection and the incident is under investigation.

This is not the first time the El Toro roller coaster had malfunctioned. Back in 2021, the ride had to temporarily shut down after a partial derailment, according to NJ Advance Media. No guests were harmed in the previous incident.
