“We are all concerned for the family living there now and their neighbors,” Westfield resident Trish Dulinkski told NJ Advance Media after she witnessed a long line of cars waiting to get a glimpse of the house. “I cannot imagine how long it will be before people lose interest so the neighborhood can go back to normal, nor can I imagine how much mail the poor current owners will receive from crackpots all over the world.”
Sabrina Scutt who lives around the corner from the house added, “I think the show doesn’t do wonders for placing our little, but amazing town in a negative light.”
The show uses the home’s actual address however Netflix did not film the show in Westfield but at a house in Rye, New York, the outlet reports.
Westfield Mayor Shelley Brindle nor the Westfield Police Department have commented on the recent attention the town has been getting due to the film.
