When you hit the fairgrounds, you’re instantly greeted by a kaleidoscope of colors, whimsical sounds, and the smell of mouthwatering food. Fairs offer a unique assortment of foods for visitors to enjoy. You can find classic favorites like cotton candy, caramel apples, popcorn, and funnel cakes. But fair food isn’t just about the classics. The vendors go all out with their wild and creative creations. They’re always thinking up new ways to deep-fry everything under the sun or put things on sticks. From deep-fried Oreos, pickles, and sometimes ice cream.

Delish compiled a list of the best state fair food in every state. These fair food choices were selected based on recommendations from fairgoers across each state.

Various states showcase an array of treats that are sure to grab your attention. These include fried butter, pizza topped with pickles, donut burgers, and many others. On the flip side, visitors from different parts of the country often flock to certain state fairs in search of that one distinct item that represents the uniqueness of that particular state. For instance, they said Maine’s red snapper hot dogs have gained quite a reputation and draw in curious food enthusiasts.

As the fair season rolls in, it’s time to discover the ultimate state fair food in New Jersey. According to the food and cooking publication, the ultimate fair food essential in New Jersey is none other than rainbow kettle corn. But rest assured, New Jersey has other options at fairs, like funnel cakes, corn dogs, and deep-fried Oreos.

The list had some awesome picks from different states. In Alabama, they picked boiled peanuts as their best, while Delaware has ice cream as the top choice. But what stands out as a more unique option is the apple pie fries offered at Illinois state fairs. They take Honeycrisp apples, cut them m into strips, dip them in cornstarch, fry them up, sprinkle some sugar on top, and finish it all off with a generous dollop of whipped cream. Another standout is the pick for Nebraska with their sweet potato tots topped off with cinnamon and sugar. You can even get them with cinnamon, marshmallow cream, and caramel.

One great thing about theme parks is that you can usually find one within driving distance. When I was a child, my family took me to several parks in Michigan, California, Ohio and Florida, so I have great memories from those trips.

The best theme parks also have convenient lodging nearby, making the trip truly seamless. That’s not to mention the awesome water parks that are often attached to today’s theme parks. Also, even though theme parks are meant for kids, it’s obvious that adults can have just as much fun at them, too.

    Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia, is one of those parks that you just hear about a lot. I feel like I’ve been hearing about it since I was a little kid, but I’ve never been there. Busch Gardens is known for being extremely beautiful and scenic, which is rare for an amusement park.
