Six puppies discovered the day after Christmas in a Center City parking garage are now in foster care.
The Pennsylvania SPCA (PSPCA) and ACCT Philly have collaborated to place the three- to four-week-old puppies in safe, warm foster homes where they will receive medical care, vaccinations, and spay/neuter procedures. According to a Patch of Philadelphia report, the puppies have been given names: Choco Christmas, Brownie Smiles, Sir Chocolates, Pecan, Butterfinger, and Nutellas.
PSPCA explained that animal cruelty, neglect, and abandonment occur more often than desired. Foster families are essential to helping abandoned animals receive the care they need before they're placed in permanent homes. PSPCA continually invites community support and offers resources for those struggling with pet ownership.
Anyone with information about these puppies or their origin is asked to contact the Animal Cruelty Hotline at 866-601-7722 or by email. The PSPCA is located at 350 E. Erie Ave. in Philadelphia.
