Summer is coming to an end but before the weather gets too cool, there are still some fun festivals to attend in September. Festivals are still alive and well in New Jersey and since the summer heat made going outside almost unbearable, you can now enjoy your favorite food trucks and music with your friends now. Take a look at six New Jersey festivals you have to check out this September:

  • 1. ‘Boots at the Beach’ Country Music Festival – Wildwood (Sept. 16 - 18)

    Are you a big fan of country music? Well, look no further. On Sept. 16 – 18 grab your cowboy (or girl) hat and head on over to the Boots at the Beach Country Music Festival in the North Wildwood Entertainment District. This event is free admission. Choose to attend the festival from Friday (Sept. 16) 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday (Sept. 17) 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. and/or Sunday (Sept. 18) 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Check out the website here for food vendors, activities, and the country artists in the festival lineup.

  • 2. Bark in the Park – Mays Landing (Sept. 17)

    You and your favorite furry friend now have plans for the weekend! Head over to “Bark in the Park” at Mays Landing on Sept. 17. The event takes place at the 4H fairgrounds and will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival is hosting several food vendors, a fun sports beer garden, and some dog-friendly activities such as a dog show and a dog pie eating contest. Tickets are $5 per person and per dog. The proceeds collected at the event will go to Laddie’s Legacy, a non-profit providing medical treatments for pets.

  • 3. Warren County Hot Air Balloons, Fun & Games Festival – Washington (Sept. 23 – 25)

    You can’t miss the last hot air balloon ride of the year! Warren County Hot Air Balloons, Fun & Games Festival is taking place in Washington, N.J. at the Warren County fairground on Sept. 23 – 25. Gates open at 3 p.m. and close at 8 p.m. Take a look here for balloon ride prices. General admission tickets are $8 per adult and $4 for children ages 4-12.

  • 4. Fall Flower Food Truck Festival – Cream Ridge (Sept. 24 - 25)

    This festival is a flower and food lovers dream. On Sept. 24 – 25, take some friends to the Fall Flower Food Truck Festival at the Holland Ridge Farms in Cream Ridge, N.J. There will be over 30 food vendors and floral enthusiast will be able to pick their own flowers for just $13 per person ages 3 and up.

  • 5. Water Lantern Festival – Jersey City (Sept. 24 – 25)

    The Water Lantern Festival is a unique experience and a family-friendly event that all can enjoy. The festival is held in Jersey City on Sept. 24 – 25 from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Liberty State Park. Participants can design their own water lantern and send it into the Hudson River at dusk. Attendees can also enjoy food trucks and live music during the festival.   • 6. SeaHearNow - Asbury Park (September 17-18)

    This one is a bit pricier: tickets are $215 per day, per person (and quite a bit more, if you are going for the VIP treatment). But there’s a lot of starpower there: Stevie Nicks headlines the first night and Green Day headlines the second night. the festival takes place on the beach, and while you’re there, you can watch professional surfers taking on the waves.
