A Mochi donut is a dessert that originated in Hawaii and is a combination of American doughnuts and Japanese mochi. Mochinut is gaining popularity owing to its unique shape and texture; light crispy coating with a soft chewy inside.
Mochi Donuts are made with rice flour which is what makes the donuts stretchy and chewy. The Mochi Donut’s texture separates them from American donuts, which are usually made out of yeast or cake. They have become popular for their unique shape which is made up of a connected circle of 8 dough balls.
Mochinuts come in a variety of flavors, like strawberry, matcha, churro, coffee, and chocolate, and vary by location. Each location always has a “flavor of the day” so customers can choose the unique flavor for a limited time.
There are over 100 Mochinut locations nationwide.
