New Jersey Crowned The Most Romantic State In The U.S.
Here in the Garden State, we know how to make someone feel extra special. According to a study from Delicto.com, sex experts have crowned New Jersey as the most romantic state in the United States. They used data from New Jersey residents that Google searched phrases such as “date ideas,” “florists near me,” and “romantic restaurants.” New Jersey residents had an average combined search score of 767 romantic searches per 100,000 people, the highest of any other state in the United States.
Delicto was able to determine New Jersey’s No. 1 spot on the list by using these tactics:
Methodology:
– For each state in the U.S., Google Keywords search volume was retrieved for each of the following search terms: (list terms). These search volumes were then divided by the state population and multiplied by 100,000, giving search volume per 100,000 population.
– The top 5 search terms for each U.S. state, and top 5 states for each search term were then determined. The search volumes were then summed for each state, giving the total search interest, across all search terms, per 100,000 population. The states were then ordered according to this metric, revealing the most and least romantic states.
Massachusetts came in second with 709 romantic searches, Delaware had 707 searches, New York took fourth place with 695, and the smallest state in the U.S., Rhode Island, rounded out the top five with 675 searches.
A spokesperson from Delicto.com commented: “Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, with millions of people carrying out romantic gestures across the globe; however, this research highlights those U.S. states where residents are seeking to be romantic all year round.”
